Recreational Programs

Our Recreational (non-competitive) classes are great for building strength, coordination, agility and balance! There are three 12-week recreational sessions during the school year and an 8-week session over the summer.

Gymnastics

The recreational gymnastics classes follow the CANGYM badge system, as published by Gymnastics Canada.  Recreational structure starts with Kindergym or Rollers, then Swingers, Springers and Flippers.  Participants may be asked to change to the Competitive stream if they are showing gymnastics excellence.

Parent & Tot introduce the apparatus and coaching to the tot in a fun and energetic manner.  Parents assist with taking turns, remembering tasks, encouragement and celebrations!

Kindergym is for 4 year olds and they participate on their own.  Basics of gymnastics and trampoline are used to develop strength, agility, balance, coordiation and more.

Rollers starts the girls in the CANGYM badge system and works on badges 1 and 2.  This should be the first class for girls 5 + to estrablish a good foundation of skills.

Springers is for girls who have completed CANGYM badges 1 and 2 (Rollers).  The difficulty increases the fitness levels expected and developed are higher than the Rollers.

Swingers works on CANGYM badges 5 and above.  As skills on these badges have higher requirements, it may take several sessions or even years to complete badges.
